Exercise a minimum of 30 minutes most days of the week.

Work up to an hour and watch the changes in your body. Exercise or get active (walk the dog, rake leaves, dance, skate) You can make it a part of your daily routine.

Try some of these ways to increase your activity

  • Sitting at a computer for an hour? Stop every hour to stretch.
  • Take a commercial break. Walk in place for 10 minutes.
  • Purchase a pedometer and walk at least 10,000 steps a day.
  • Challenge yourself and add steps each week.
  • Register with America on the Move to keep track of your steps.
  • Stand up if you play video games.
  • Walk back in forth for 20 minutes while playing.
  • Where a watch and time your workouts,10 minutes here and there add up quickly! Keep an exercise log.
  • Build on your exercise routines. Walk a little further, jump rope a littler longer, do more repetitions. You don't have to spend a lot of money to be fit. Be consistent, patient and you'll get results!
